Versilia is the name of part of the coast of Tuscany, in Italy, in the province of Lucca. It stretches between Marina di Massa on the north and Massaciuccoli Lake on the south. Versilia is the perfect get away for your summer holidays.

Viareggio - Viareggio is a town in the province of Lucca. This town is situated on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in the north of Tuscany, Italy. It is a fishing center and a fashionable beach resort. Other industries of this town include the manufacture of luxury motor yachts. Viareggio is also famous for its liberty period architecture. Come here to enjoy the seaside and sunshine. It is also known to host the world famous carnival. This carnival offers the sight of the huge paper maché floats and puppets, which parade along the famous "viali a mare", down the sea promenades, offering a wide range of entertainment and fun for children and adults. The paper maché puppets ridicule public and political figures, put on scene social issues, as well as the fairy-tales' heroes.
Fortino - The Fortino represents the symbol of Forte dei Marmi. This is a fortress built in 1788 for the will of the Grand-duke of Tuscany Leopold belonging to the Lorena family. This was built in order to promote the urban settlement.
Nowadays this building is situated in a modern urban environment, formed by many streets full of trees that give a relaxant aspect to the town. Today it is a well known tourist destination.
Medicean Palace - The Medicean Palace hosted by the town of Seravezza, is the most important monument in Versilia. It was built for the will of Cosimo 1st in 1561. This building presents a simple facade, connected with two quite jutting bodies. Nowadays, on the site of it, the "Museum of the Work and of the popular traditions" has been built, belonging to the historic Versilia. This museum allows you to know some interesting facts about typical marble activities and local culture.
Tower of the Clock - The Tower of the clock located in Stazzema, is a Medicean tower built in stone and dating back 1739. To a little distance, you will find the "Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Bell'amore", a suggestive building which dates from the 17th century, where was discovered an image of the Madonna.
Malaspina Castle - The first nucleus of the castle at Fosdinovo was erected, probably during the High Middle Age, on the slopes of Mount Grosso in order to guard the access roads leading from the inland valleys of the Lunigiana to the sea.
Verrucola Castle - The magnificently fortified hill of Verrucola, located between the Mommio stream and the Collegnago canal, dominates the route leading from the Magra River Valley to the mountain passes of the western Lunigiana and the planes of Parma and Reggio Emilia and beyond them. As far back as 1044 there are records referring to the existence of this "caminata domini Bosonis", the fortified residence in which, prior to the ascendancy of the Malaspina, the noble Bosi family had established the seat of their dominion.
Fortress of Brenella - Located in a strategic point, the Brunella Fortress dominates the town of Aulla and the confluence of the Aulla and Magra rivers. It once controlled the access routes linking the inland valleys from the Lunigiana to Via Francigena in a key point between the inland mountain passes and the coast. This fortress is the most efficiently designed military structure ever built in the Lunigiana.
Piagnaro Castle - The Piagnaro Castle, poised at the top of the hill, so dominating the northern approach to the town of Pontremoli, arose in order to control the cross-roads which, traversing Mount Bardone, provided the link between the Po Valley, to the north-west, and the Magra Valley and Tyrrhennian coast, to the south-east.
