St Mark's Square -
St Mark's Square is Venice's most famous and busy square. Admire the architectural beauty of this place while enjoying coffee of the many cafes scattered around. Venice's other attractions like the Campanile and the Clock Tower are nearby. St Mark's Basilica is worth a visit because of its golden altar piece.
Gallerie dell'Accademia - The Academia Gallery holds some of the finest art collections in Europe. The walls are lined with works by Venetian master painters like Bellini, Veronese, Titian and Tintoretto.
Palazzo Ducale & the Bridge of Sighs -
The Palazzo Ducale was the home of the Doges from where they ruled the Venetian state. Several aspects of the life of the Doge can be sited here. Walk on the "Bridge of Sighs" to know what the prisoners might have felt like because they were taken to their cells on this bridge. Those prisoners used to sigh by seeing the beauty of the canals.
Ca' d'Oro - Ca' D'Oro means the House of Gold. A beautiful palazzo is located on the Grand Canal. This is a great example of gothic architecture. The Palazzo exhibit a fine collection of sculptures, tapestries and paintings.
Santa Maria della Salute - Guarding the entrance to the Grand Canal stands the Santa Maria della Salute a Venetian landmark and a magnificent Baroque Church. The sacristy boasts paintings by Titian.
San Giorgio Maggiore - This church is a well known Venetian landmark. The church was designed by Palladio, the famous renaissance architecture. Inside the church, several admirable and famous paintings including "The Last Supper" of Tintoretto's paintings can be found.
